Vista Del Mar is located in the heart of the action, right on the Malecon (ocean road).  Directly in front of the condo is the bay with miles of beach (as seen from the pictures above).  Some of the choices of how to fill your vacation days will include:

Run along the beach early in the morning for your morning work-out.  Or, sit on the balcony, drink your morning coffee and watch others get their morning work-out.

Rent an umbrella (or tarp for larger groups), sit on the beach, catch some rays. (if you are from the north remember your sunscreen, the sun is powerful)   Vendors sell ice cream, beer, sandwiches, souvenirs right on the beach. Take a walk down the beach and pick up sea shells, rent a jet-ski, or a ride on the banana boat just for laughs.

Stroll along the Malecon.  This is especially nice to do after dinner, as the nights are warm and you can listen to the gentle waves, watch the stars.

Jaime can arrange for a variety of tours that will interest you.  Bring your cameras with you for these exciting and educational tours!  For around $100 a day, you can have a privately guided (by a professional) tour of the local whale museum, board a boat to view whales and their babies (May through August), or request bird, seal, or other animal viewing.   For $5 an hour plus the cost of the taxi, you can accompany Jaime as he goes to the local farmer's market and fish market to buy items for your dinner that he will cook and serve to you in romantic style on the balcony.

Rent a jet ski for $20 per half hour.

Join a whale watching group May through October, prices start at $20 per person.

Ernest Hemingway said that the deep sea fishing off Salinas was the best in the world. Charter boats start at $270 for three people to $520 a day for six people, gear provided.  Boats pick up and return right in front of our building, so even if you don't fish, you can see the catch of the day being brought in from these boats from the comfort of  your balcony.

Rent a bicycle and see the town at your own leisurely rate.

Have breakfast, lunch or dinner at any of the dozens of restaurants or cafes on the Malecon.

There is a grocery store a block away, behind the the condo, buy some food and prepare it in your apartment, or on the deck BBQ.

There is a mini-market, pharmacy, ice cream store in front of the condo.

Our lobby has a 24-hour a day guard that is at the front door of the condo, which creates a safe environment for our guests. We have covered, gated parking with four assigned parking spaces.  However, a car is not necessary here.  A taxi can be arranged to pick you up from the Airport and bring you straight to the condo.  Taxis travel on the Malecon as well as the street behind us, so no need to call a taxi, just stand on the street and wait a minute for a taxi to pass by. It costs between $1.50-$2.00 for a taxi ride. It cost 25 cents per person to take the bus.  We can also arrange for a private car to take you around.
